I’m planning to buy a used Toyota Verso and could really use some help deciding which engine would be best. I’ve come across a few listings—some with the 1.6 diesel and others with the 2.0 D-4D or the 1.8 petrol. I mostly drive in the city but also take longer trips twice a month. Fuel efficiency and low maintenance are important to me, but I also want something reliable for the long run.
Does anyone here have long-term experience with any of these engines? Are there common issues I should be aware of?
Also, I'm new to understanding engine performance and specs in depth. I recently took a course for work, and it got me thinking—maybe I could apply some of that analysis mindset to compare models and user experiences.
